Construction of the FDCL-Movie-Database
The FDCL-Archive does not only have books, journals and newspapers but also provides a big collection of audio-visual material. It contains several thousand movies about social and political subjects.
We regularly organize rows of films and movie nights, and we take part in film festivals (One World, Globale, Aktion Mensch...).
A big accumulation of films, which is unique in this country, arose from a huge network of contacts. In our archive you can find collectives, social actors, well-known and little-known directors and the history of critical cinema in Latin America.
The next step of our archiving procedure is to install this collection for local usage, to develop a special database and to add further material.
So far this enormous amount of work is being done without any financing and urgently needs financial support.
