The archive owns the complete collection of the Chilean journal Punto Final, which exists only in a few places around the world. In Chile itself the early issues aren't even available from the publisher.
200 historic issues from 1965 (year of founding) to 1973 (year of the coup d'état) had been digitized in a voluntary project. Worldwide digital access to this journal is now available on DVD and online: www.pf-memoriahistorica.org.
If there wouldn't be archives like the FDCL, such treasures which don't exist completely in the countries of provenance itself, would be lost. Since a lot of archives are closing, the relevance of the FDCL-Archive is becoming more important in terms of preserving valuable material.
